Peta Starkey

Peta was born in Adelaide in 1962 and at the age of 12 her family moved to Goolwa on the gorgeous South Coast. Peta spent her teenage years horse riding, playing netball, swimming and enjoying life at the beach and the river.

In 1978 Peta studied Art at Sturt CAE under Tom Gleghorn. Peta moved back to Goolwa, married and had 4 children - her artistic pursuits put aside whilst raising her family. Encouraged by her adult children, Peta reconnected with painting in recent years.

The unique colours and textures of the Southern Ocean and Fleurieu Peninsula and her love of wildlife and nature are reflected in her paintings. Using oils, Peta has developed a unique style, blending realism, impressionism and pointillism with a pop of colour..
