Woolybeez Needle Felted Art

Born in the Netherlands, worked as occupational therapist, then moved to Australia in 1982.

I always had a love for painting and drawing.

Skilled in watercolours and portraiture for many years, as well as folk art painting and jewellery making.

In 2014 I discovered the art of needle felting, in fact I fell in love with it!

Needle felting is the process of tangling raw carded wool using a special barbed felting needle.

The needle stabs the wool over and over so the fibres lock together.

Wool is a beautiful medium to work with and completely natural.

My sculptures take many hours to complete as I like to add as much detail as I can.

The sculptures are delicate and meant for display only.

I am inspired mostly by nature, “all creatures great and small”.

And it’s my pleasure to re- create and make you smile.
