ANGELA SOUTER

Angela was born in Manchester England and has lived in many places including New Zealand, Egypt, India and Scotland before settling in Australia.  In the last 4 years she has called Victor Harbor home. She recently graduated (2019) from Adelaide Central School of Art with a Bachelor of Visual Art Degree.  Drawing and painting are a part of her DNA and something she has always done. Her work is in private collections in Scotland, New Zealand as well as Australia.  In 2017 she held her first Solo exhibition with funding from the Victor Harbor Arts Council, creating an “Opening Night at an Art Gallery” experience in a residential care facility. For her Graduation Exhibition her art practice focused using locally sourced natural materials, inspired by her new surroundings on the Fleurieu Peninsula. She describes herself as an exploratory and experimental artist employing most mediums and a variety of genres but with inspiration to create coming from her surroundings.
