Yvonne Bendall
I was a trained as a Primary School Art Teacher, that believes that even the youngest child can be taught to draw and paint, and use tools of the trade with guidance. My first Art teacher was well known South Australian Artist Tom Gleghorn who encouraged me to follow my ideas. Now after my working career as a Graphic Artist in the Retail Industry, I have many hours to paint for myself between travelling. But it had got to the stage I had no walls left for display!! Friends constantly have encouraged me to get my work "out there" for others to appreciate.
My style varies from impressionistic to lifelike and Palette knife technique, but the common denominator is that my subject matter has to be "different" to catch the viewers eye. I love... bright...colour..... large....and meaningful. Many paintings represent places travelled over the world.
I use Acrylics, Oils and also Heat Set Oils depending on the subject matter.
