Miertje Skidmore is an abstract artist whose unique works are fast becoming collectors’ items.
She joined Artworx in 2006 and immediately established herself as a favourite of the gallery’s client base.
Since the 1970s she has lived an artisan’s life, painting and drawing as well as establishing her own successful clothing design label.
After focussing mainly on her clothing label for many years, Miertje changed direction in the late 1990s to devote her time and talent to the breathtaking abstracts that are her hallmark.
Her works now hang in private and corporate collections around Australia and overseas.
Miertje’s work is diverse and experimental. The majesty of nature inspires the often complex and visually inspiring works on canvas. Her work is sought by both private and corporate collectors.
Meirtje has worked with pastels, acrylics, oils and high gloss mixed media. Currently showing in Goolwa Artworx Gallery, also in Melbourne and Sydney.
