Janet Ayliffe has been working as a print artist, painter and print maker since the mid 1980s, having developed in that time a highly original style that reflects her life, environment and family.
Born and raised at a farm on Kangaroo Island, she now lives at Kangarilla, in the Adelaide Hills. She is a pioneer of solar plate etching as well as multiple plate etching and produces deeply complex and often mystical pieces.
Her work provides a window into her life, children, home and the hills, animals and plants that surround her. It incorporates the emotions that stir her, the issues that concern her and the people who have touched her.
