Goolwa's Bill Buter was born in Holland and migrated to Australia with his family in 1950 before returning to Holland to study between 1955 and 1960.
His paintings emphasise his passion for the scale of Australian space and the special quality of Australian light on the landscape and its people.
He has enjoyed numerous successful one-man exhibitions, his unique style being described in the Australian Artist magazine on a number of occasions.
His work is represented in many private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
