Wayne learnt his skilful craft in the late 1980’s, later developing his own unique style and technique. He travels the world collecting a wide variety of precious and semi precious stones, such as Peru for their amazing opals and Mexico for unique amber. He is a regular visitor to Tahiti where he teaches yoga, surfs and collects their amazing black Tahitian pearl which he sets with stones such as peridot and garnet. Also using mother of pearl hand carved by the local Tahitians in his pendants and earrings, he creates a beautiful union of old tradition and modern style.
Also travelling to remote places of Australia for its many varied unique gems such as Mookite from Western Australia, Stichtite from Tasmania and Sapphire form Queensland, Wayne endeavours to look for uncommon jewels then creates a new ”one of “piece’. He gathers his inspiration from his surrounding environment, using the jewel as the focal point, keeping it simple so as to enhance it, without distracting from the stone. Starting with a series of sketches Wayne works in sterling silver and gold and once inspired, finds he has an intense run of creativity and will spend many days in his studio only breaking out for an occasional surf.
We have beautiful Sterling Silver and gemstone (Prehnite, Garnet and Amethyst) earrings in at the moment. These pieces are going quickly.
